Springtime
I left work early yesterday.
At four o'clock in the afternoon, I was walking home. The sky was clear, it was nice and warm and there was a definite feeling that spring was in the air. But there was more - it felt like a weight had been lifted from me. I felt like I was seventeen again, finishing my exams and never having to worry about them again. After all, I'd left my pass at security, given my laptop and my credit card back, and I'd handed over my last file of work to one of my colleagues.
I've worked for the same company for most of my adult life, and now I am changing company, changing career and moving to work in a different country again. It's going to be an interesting few months - but today I am taking it easy, knowing that I won't be back there on Monday.

The year of the rat! The number 1 year! Are you all packed and ready to go? Very auspicious that your endings and beginnings are timed so closely with the new year. I foresee good things all round.
I too have endings and beginnings going on here in the Quiet NE Corner of Connecticut. Knowing that the only constant is change helps take the edge of the uncertainty off it all.
Spring is definitely just around the corner. Every Spring is different and the possibilites are endless.
Warmest Regards- Tim
My goodness! Are you sure it's safe to put that image up? ;-)
Actually, I'm not entirely sure you can say you worked for the "same" company for all those years given that it was SALAS when you started. On the other hand, I suppose, it kind of depends on which corporate culture won during the takeover/merger.
Are you coming back to our mutual home town? I met up with friends from our old street just at the weekend - and very nice it was too. Just remember to look out for a flat with a birth pool - all that extra re-sale value. Good luck with the move.
Congratulations. Hope you enjoyed your lay in this morning.
Indeed - back to our home town, and back to the old street at least in the short term. Damned weird it will be too, but in a good way.
